ABOUT
Sonitha Tep is a graphic designer and interdisciplinary artist currently living and working in Mni Sóta Makoce (Minneapolis, MN). Their practice recontextualizes graphic design through a fine arts lens and engages with Cambodian identity, diaspora, oral stories and concepts of queerness. They work primarily in papermaking, fiber and digital printmaking processes. Their graphic design practice prioritizes storytelling through the digital landscape keeping accessibility, solidarity and the imagination in marginalized communities in mind. Outside of their career practices Sonitha volunteers on many local environmental sustainability projects.
They attended Minneapolis College of Arts & Design in 2019 and received a BFA in Graphic Design. They have had work featured in St. Croix ArtReach, Stillwater Historical Courthouse, the Affirmation Space in Northrup King Building and FT1642 published by Formist.
